Thai PM declares emergency on 7 April.

Dear Swire Travel Corporate Client,

Please be informed that the Thai Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, has declared a state of emergency in Bangkok and nearby provinces on Wednesday, 7 April.

Swire International Travel Services would like to remind all our clients currently in or will be traveling to Bangkok to pay close attention to public sources of information concerning events on the streets of Bangkok and should be aware of their surroundings at all times. Stay away from announced rally areas and red-clad protesters. Limit exposure to political party offices, government buildings, prominent public venues, and state-affiliated business (including radio and television stations). Monitor local media for security and traffic updates. Consider using the Mass Rapid Transit (Metro, MRT) or BTS SkyTrain system to avoid road travel complications in and around central Bangkok.
